How Balloons.co.za collects, uses and protects your personal information, in line with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
The short version
- We only collect what we need to process and deliver your order.
- We never sell, rent or trade your personal information.
- Card details are handled by our payment provider; we never see or store them.
- Your logo or artwork is only used to make your branded balloons.
- You can ask to see, correct or delete your information at any time.
- You can unsubscribe from marketing messages whenever you like.
1 Who we are
Balloons.co.za is based in Boksburg, East Rand, Gauteng, South Africa. We are responsible for the personal information you share with us through this website, by email or on WhatsApp. Our Information Officer is the owner of Balloons.co.za, who can be contacted at info@balloons.co.za.
2 Information we collect
- Order details: your name, email address, phone number, delivery and billing address, and what you order.
- Account details: if you create an account, your login details and order history.
- Artwork: logos, text or images you upload or send us for branded balloons.
- Messages: what you send us by email or WhatsApp.
- Arcade & offers: your email address, if you enter it to receive a discount code.
- Website use: basic technical information such as your browser, device and the pages you visit, collected through cookies.
We don't collect or store your card details. Payments are processed securely by our payment provider.
3 How we use your information
- To process, produce and deliver your order, and send you order and delivery updates.
- To answer your questions and provide support.
- To make your branded balloons from the artwork you provide.
- To keep the website working, safe and easy to use, and to improve our products and services.
- To send you offers or news, only if you've agreed to receive them. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- To meet our legal and accounting obligations.
4 Who we share it with
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We only share what's needed with trusted service providers who help us run the business, such as:
- payment providers, to process your payment;
- courier and delivery companies, to deliver your order.
They may only use your information to provide their service to us. We may also share information where the law requires it.
5 Cookies
Our website uses cookies to keep your cart and account working, remember your preferences and understand how the site is used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but parts of the website, such as the cart and checkout, may not work properly without them.
6 How long we keep it
We keep your information only as long as needed for the purposes above, and for as long as the law requires us to keep records (for example, tax and accounting records). Artwork for branded balloons is kept so we can help with reorders, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.
7 How we protect it
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access, including a secure (SSL-encrypted) website and limited access to customer information.
8 Your rights
Under POPIA, you have the right to:
- ask what personal information we hold about you, and get a copy of it;
- ask us to correct or update your information;
- ask us to delete your information, where we don't need to keep it by law;
- object to us using your information for marketing, and unsubscribe at any time.
